Help Create a Legacy of Excellence

The Gerald J. Oppenheimer Fund for the Professional Development of Health Sciences Librarians is an endowed fund initiated through a gift from Nancy Blase, who retired from the UW Libraries in 2006, made in honor of Gerald (Gerry) J. Oppenheimer, former director of the Health Sciences Library. Blase, a former president of PSA-PBK, is delighted to honor Oppenheimer, PSA-PBK's current secretary, by investing in the knowledge and advancement of health sciences librarians.

The aim of this fund is to support the professional development of health sciences librarians, making it possible for them to provide exceptional service to the health sciences schools, including Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy, Social Work, and Dentistry; the University of Washington Medical Center; and affiliated hospitals and clinics in the Puget Sound area. As an endowed fund, the impact of this gift and other donations to this fund will continue into the future and will provide access to conferences, training sessions, symposia and other opportunities for health sciences librarians to advance their knowledge. The decisions on distributions from this fund for professional development will be made by Tania Bardyn, associate dean of libraries and director of Health Sciences Library.

Please e-mail Maliah Washington with any questions. You may also make a gift of any amount.
