PSA-PBK Vice President Gerry Oppenheimer
Writes on Italian Art and Architecture
Gerry Oppenheimer, vice president of the Puget Sound Association of Phi Beta Kappa, has posted another publication to his Web site: Italian Painters Born Prior to 1650: A Checklist. It comprises about 5,400 names, and lists alternative names, relationships, places of birth or activity, and dates. It is also available, at that link, as a PDF and searchable Excel spreadsheet.
An earlier publication, Venetian Palazzi and Case: A Guide to the Literature, is still available and is likewise available as PDF or XLS. It lists 533 palaces and important houses (excluding clerical buildings), both existent and derelict, and connects each to sources in the scholarly literature. It is part of the bibliography for the Wikipedia article on Venice. |
